Ray Lewis started his tax consultancy seven years ago in Boulder, Colorado and since then has expanded his business to serve the Bay Area. With offices in both San Francisco and Boulder, he also services clients in 12 other states.
Ray provides his clients with outstanding tax consulting advice and tax return preparation that leaves them feeling confident that they are paying the least amount of tax possible while staying in compliance with the law.
Ray is an Enrolled Agent (EA). An elite group in the tax world, Enrolled Agents (EAs) are the only tax professionals required to demonstrate to the IRS their competence in matters of taxation before they may represent a taxpayer before the IRS. Unlike some attorneys and accountants, all EAs specialize in taxes.
He is also a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents and the National Society of Tax Professionals.
One of the reasons Ray is so skilled at personalized tax coaching is his diverse background. Before moving into the world of tax and finance, he was a technology consultant at The New York Times and the Philadelphia Inquirer for a combined 17 years. Before founding Tax Therapy, he worked at L&L Tax Service in Colorado.
Ray is also a classically trained pianist and a writer. He taught piano in both New York and Boulder and served as a faculty member of The Sawtooth Writers Conference in Stanley, Idaho, an annual event dedicated to teaching fiction and poetry to gifted teenagers. Ray holds an undergraduate degree in History from The University of Pennsylvania.
